    Abstract:

    Bedding is one of the important factors which influences animal health and quality of animal experiment. Beddings of the current usage primarily consist of shavings of wood, corncob, recycled-paper, straws, hulls and other fiber materials. This paper reviews the toxicity of the bedding materials, extraction, and the bedding influences on laboratory animal growth and breeding. In fact, the white poplar and corncob are ideal bedding materials.
