    Abstract:

    Objective To observe the effect of lycopene(LP) on blood glucose and lipid peroxiditionin in diabetic rats. Methods The diabetic model was induced by alloxan in Wistar rats. The glucose oxidase method was used to determine blood glucose. The xanthines oxidase method and TBA were used to determine SOD and MDA in serum and pancreas respectively. {Results} Compared with model rats, blood glucose in the group of LP administration was decreased, SOD was increased and MDA was decreased significantly (%P%<0^05). Conclusion LP could effectively decrease blood glucose and increase antioxidative ability in the diabetic rats.;
