    Abstract:

    Objective To further confirm the analgesic effect of external applied Chinese traditional medicine Ai Zheng Zhen Tong San in animal experiments. Methods Glacial acetic acid test in mice and NaCl test in rats were used to make the body twisting then to evaluate the efficacy of the drug. Results When external applied on the belly, Ai Zheng Zhen Tong San restrained the body twisting effect in mice induced by injecting 0.6% glacial acetic acid into abdominal cavity. And it also restrained the body twisting effect induced by injecting 4% NaCl into abdominal cavity in rats. The drug showed good correlation between doses and efficacy. It presented apparent analgesic effects under high and middle doses, while not under low dose. Conclusion Ai Zheng Zhen Tong San is effective when externally applied on the belly for inner ache of the abdominal cavity.
