    Abstract:

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disease. The main pathological marker, termed Lewy bodies (LBs), is a globular inclusion in the visible part of the substantia nigra pars compacta. The maincomponent of LBs is a partially hollow radial amyloid fiber, and the main component of the amyloid fiber is α-synuclein(AS). AS has a close association with the occurrence of PD and is a key protein in the study of PD pathogenesis. The ASfibrils have unique propagation characteristics and can induce a series of features similar to PD pathology, thus they can beused as a new material for efficient PD model establishment. This paper reviews the research progress of PD models based on AS fibrils.
